Description:
It is an evergreen tree that grows upto 20 M. It grows in tropical climate.

Phytochemical constituents:
Azadirachtin, Nimbin, Nimbidin, Nimbidol, Calcium, Iron, Chlorophyll, Oxalic acid, Quercetin, Stearic acid, Sterols, Triterpenoids, Thiamine, Vitamin A, Vitamin C.

Side effects and Risk factors:

  • Oral intake is UNSAFE for Infants and children. Serious side effects include vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, blood disorders, seizures, loss of consciousness, coma, brain disorders, and death.
  • Avoid in Pregnancy as it is a Uterine stimulant. Leaf is also used for birth control and to cause abortion.
  • If you are trying to have children, avoid using Neem.
  • Monitor blood sugar level, as Neem can lower blood sugar levels.
  • Do not use Neem if you have had an organ transplant.
  • Stop using Neem at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.
